You’ve probably seen them on your feed: A random guy taking a blurry selfie with Cillian Murphy on the set of Peaky Blinders, or a girl laughing with The Rock at the gym.
They look too real. The lighting is bad, the angle is awkward, and the quality looks like a dirty iPhone camera.
That is why they go viral.
Today, I’m going to show you the exact workflow to create these "Selfies with Stars" using Midjourney or the new Flow AI (by Google).

The Workflow in 3 Steps
You cannot just upload your photo and ask AI to "put me with Brad Pitt." It will look like a cartoon. Instead, we use the "Body Double" method.
Generate: Create a fake selfie of a "random person" standing next to the celebrity.
Swap: Use a Face Swap tool to replace the "random person's" face with yours.
Upscale: Clean up the final image.
You have two great options in 2025.
Option A: Flow (Google Labs) – Best Free Option
Flow is Google’s new creative tool. It creates hyper-realistic images using the "Nano Banana" model, and it's currently free to try.
Step 1: Go to labs.google/flow.
Step 2: Click "Create" and switch the mode from Video to "Image".
Step 3: In the Model settings, ensure "Nano Banana Pro" is selected (this is best for realism).
Step 4: Paste the prompt (below) and hit Generate.
Why use it: It listens to prompts perfectly and handles "bad camera quality" prompts better than DALL-E 3.
Option B: Midjourney v6.1 – Best Quality
If you have a subscription, Midjourney is still the king of skin texture and lighting.
Step 1: Open Discord and go to the Midjourney bot.
Step 2: Type
/imagineand paste the prompt.
Step 2: The "Viral" Prompts
The secret to realism is asking for bad quality. If the image is too perfect, people know it's AI.
Copy/Paste these Prompts into Flow or Midjourney:
1. The "Movie Set" Selfie
Prompt:
A candid iPhone 15 selfie shot, front camera angle. A generic [man/woman] with [brown hair] taking a selfie next to [Celebrity Name] who is wearing a [Costume Description]. They are standing on the movie set of [Movie Name]. Background shows film crew, lighting equipment, and green screens. The lighting is harsh and natural. Slight motion blur, film grain, skin texture, unposed, messy hair, flash photography on. --style raw
2. The "Street Encounter" Selfie
Prompt:
A low-quality Snapchat selfie. A [young man] standing next to [Celebrity Name] on a busy street in NYC. It is night time. [Celebrity] is wearing a hoodie and looking at the camera. Street lights in background, blurry people passing by. Realistic skin texture, imperfections, ISO 800, grainy footage style.
💡 Pro Tip: Change the "generic man/woman" description to match your body type (e.g., "A muscular man with a beard"). This makes the face swap look 10x better.
Step 3: Face Swap (The Magic Trick)
Now that you have a photo of "Some guy" with "Brad Pitt," you need to become "Some guy."
Best Free Face Swap Tools (2025):
1. Remaker AI (Easiest Web Tool)
Go to Remaker.ai.
Upload the Target Image (The AI Celebrity photo you just made).
Upload the Source Image (A clear selfie of your real face).
Click Swap.
2. Discord "InsightFace" Bot (Best Quality)
Create a private Discord server.
Invite the InsightFaceSwap bot.
Type
/saveid [name] [upload your selfie].Type
/swapid [name] [upload the celebrity photo].
Step 4: Add "Fake Realism"
If the photo still looks too "shiny," take it into Snapseed or Lightroom app:
Add Grain: Real phone cameras have noise. AI is too smooth.
Lower Contrast: Make the blacks a bit gray/faded.
Add Blur: Slightly blur the background to hide AI mistakes.
